WETTBEWERB – NEUBAU SPORTZENTRUM ERLANGEN
Neubau einer 4-fach Sporthalle mit Tribünen für die 1. Handball Bundesliga und einem Boulderzentrum mit Wettkampfwänden – 
Identität durch markante Gebäudehülle
Der Entwurf zielt auf einen identitätsbildenden Gebäudekörper ab um dem sehr jungen und populären Sport Bouldern ausreichend Rechnung zu tragen. Das Sporthalle wird mit einer semitransparenten Glasfasermembrane gefasst und verleiht dem Gebäude seine Identität. Die Fassade ist jedoch nicht nur Hülle, sondern zugleich auch Informationsträger. Das aufgedruckte Muster wurde aus QR-Code Mustern entwickelt. Eingestreut finden sich scanfähige QR-Codes, die mit verschiedensten Informationen hinterlegt sein können. Die Inhalte können dynamisch gestaltet werden. So kann die Fassade statisch ausgebildet werden.

New construction of a four-court gymnasium with spectator stands for Erlangen’s 1st League handball team and a boulder centre with competition walls – recognition through striking exterior
The intention of the design is the creation of an iconic building, which reflects the popularity of bouldering among the younger generation. The gymnasium is enveloped by a semi-transparent glass fibre membrane lending it a unique appearance. However, the facade is not only the skin but also a bearer of information. The printed pattern was developed from QR codes. Scanable codes, that can be edited and updated with new information, are embedded in the pattern. Their content can be designed dynamically, which leads to the variable appearance of the static structure.
